About Us

People United to Advance the Dream Mobile, Inc., was created to serve the residents in the county of Mobile, Alabama and surrounding areas. By advocating for productive workplaces by diversity, equity and inclusion policies. Hosting webinars and in-person professional development classes on financial education. Providing laptops to single parents to complete their education that are registered with the Alabama Career Center. Empowering high school and middle school students with the knowledge of Power of the Vote, through our longest running program the, "Advance the Vote Tour" to Selma, Alabama.  The Advance the Vote Tour provides a first hand experience for students to learn about Civil Rights and the  obstacles were overcame for the right to vote, which still needs to be protected today.  We encourage everyone regardless of race to attend this tour, benefits include team building skills, and bridging  gaps in unconscious biases.

Our mission is to further Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream by empowering the under-served through overcoming social disadvantages by increasing racial equity and increasing financial literacy.

Our vision is to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., through collaboration with organizations and individuals: to promote the well-being of family units, to close the racial wealth gap, and curtail community violence.

Our History

1970

Mr. Floyd Lee King, Jr. founded People United to Advance the Dream.  Alvin Lovett and William Daniels started the journey with him to united thousands of people for our annual Dr. Martin Luther King.

2015

Organization Leadership Torch Passing to People to United to Advance the Dream Mobile, Inc.   

2016

Reverend David E. Edwards, Jr. accepts responsibility as the President of People United to Advance the Dream Mobile, Inc.
